About Us
Our Purpose
The Victoria Gilbert and Sullivan Society is dedicated to the promotion of the arts in Victoria, in particular the works of William S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan.
Who We Are
The Victoria Gilbert and Sullivan Society is an enthusiastic recreational musical theatre group that stages the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas to a professional standard. Our Main Stage production is traditionally held each spring at the McPherson Theatre in Victoria and the Charlie White Theatre in Sidney, and we mount a travelling Road Show in the fall.
Theatre is the ultimate team activity. While we work hard to be the very best, we also like to have fun and build a wonderful supportive environment for new and seasoned performers. We always appreciate new members—on stage and backstage.
The society also supports the local arts community with bursaries for theatre students and is involved in community outreach activities.
